Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate any person or entity or create accounts by automated means.

One person or legal entity may not maintain multiple accounts to evade suspension, usage limits, or enforcement of these Terms.

You retain ownership of the content you publish (“Your Content”). You grant Writings a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights necessary to publish Your Content and that Your Content, and its publication on the Service, does not violate any law or infringe any third party’s rights.

Writings is a platform for writing. The following are strictly prohibited. Content or accounts that engage in any of them may be removed or suspended at our discretion, with or without notice. You may not use the Service to create, publish, host, link to, promote, distribute, or facilitate:

• Infringing or pirated material. Copyrighted works you are not authorized to distribute, including cracked, “nulled,” or pirated software, license keys, serials, activators, keygens, patches, or loaders.
• Circumvention tools. Software, scripts, instructions, or links whose purpose is to bypass software licensing, digital rights management, activation, authentication, paywalls, or access controls.
• Malware & harmful code. Viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any file or download intended to harm, exploit, deceive, or gain unauthorized access to a device, network, or account.
• Spam & link farming. Content that exists primarily to redirect traffic, distribute link dumps, manipulate search rankings, or advertise off-platform goods or services rather than to publish genuine writing; and any automated or bulk posting.
• Illegal goods & activity. Anything unlawful in your jurisdiction or ours, including the sale of illegal or regulated goods, fraud, phishing, money laundering, or the facilitation of any of these.
• Deception & abuse. Phishing, scams, impersonation, doxxing, harassment, hate speech, incitement of violence, or content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
• Platform abuse. Attempts to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure, or other users’ accounts or data.

We may treat linking to prohibited material the same as hosting it. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice or liability: remove or unpublish any content; disable or delete any blog; and suspend, lock, or terminate any account that we believe violates these Terms, exposes us or our users to legal risk, or harms the Service or its users. We may preserve and disclose information where required by law or to enforce these Terms.

We are not obligated to monitor content, but we may do so. A decision not to act in one case does not waive our right to act in another. Where practical and lawful, we may notify you of an action and its reason, but we are not required to.

We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to abuse@writings.so including: identification of the work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We will remove or disable access to infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers.

To report content or an account that violates these Terms, contact abuse@writings.so. Please include the URL and a brief description of the violation.

Paid features are billed in advance on a recurring basis and are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Terminating an account for a violation of these Terms does not entitle you to a refund.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Writings and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service or to content published by any user. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for any content you access through the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Writings and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
